Using Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Internet Explorer and can't save these as Word Documents ?

If you're good with computers go to Start >My Computer and choose Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down and select DOC - Word Document and click 'Advanced. Un-tick "Browse in same window". Click 'OK' and close all the windows. Now your downloaded Word documents will open in Word and can be saved. (You can do the same for Excel -XLS-and Powerpoint -PPT- files.)

If you need to ask a computer specialist, they might find the Microsoft link :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/q162/0/59.asp&NoWebContent=1

useful as reference. (The process for earlier forms of Windows is similar to the above.)

Don't have Word or Excel? All these files can be opened and used in Open Office. You can download Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org/ for free or purchase it for around 10ukp on CD. For information go to http://www.openoffice.org/.
